Yeah, real Nameless City hours with this one–even the ending where you get teleported somewhere alien felt like that map. This is a lot less hideous though. The atmosphere in this level is absolutely off the charts. It’s blocky, but the detailing is good and clean, the lighting is fantastic (I have my gamma cranked fairly high, which is probably why I didn’t feel it was too dark), and the custom item boxes really aid in the overall vibe. The gameplay is only alright (though I love the little alleyways, reminded me of Ravenholm in HL2), but when I got to the docks? I was blown away, especially for the time and for the year.

It’s a nicely constructed map, with good visuals. Not really a huge fan of the big open areas, but definitely one to put in your “To play” list.
