I remember having played this in 2001 or 2002, must have been with glquake. Looks much more impressive now, with quakespasm. Really nice, Quake goes Prince of Persia 
I found only 1/3 secrets and wondered if one is in the litte cataract in the rocks at the beginning, but couldn’t make it with a jump there.

I’ve been wanting to play this map for a while and I finally got to it thanks to me beta-testing BloodVengeance’s RTlights. I was not disappointed. A very charming atmosphere with optimal texturing and nice layout. It’s hard to believe that it’s already 15 years old! I followed Talisa’s advice and recommend using the Sahara skybox with it instead of the original scrolling sky, it complements this map perfectly and makes it even more gorgeous. Secrets are good.
Minor quibbles: Combat could be a little harder on skill 2 but the ammo is relatively scarce. It also starts very slowly with sporadic enemy placement, but it gets much better later on. There’s an ambush that won’t be triggered unless you pick up a specific medbox. Map designers should avoid doing that.
I played this map with Passion by Peter Gabriel featuring Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan in the background and I wholeheartedly recommend it. Either that or a sitar raga.
@ludicrous Yes it is. The jump is tricky but definitely doable: I made it and I’m not that good at quakey acrobatics. It took me a few tries, though.
By the way, I agree with DeeDoubleU that the screenshot could be much better.

+1 to the “the screenshot does not do the map justice” voice, but then again despite being a shocking first impression it didn’t age 100% well.
