Quake in WebGL

Committed build 21.

  • Sky now blocks rendering and is rendered only through brushes with sky texture. This fixes seeing through sky in the beginning of E4M7 and through QTest teleporters.
  • Changed RCON request format.

Pulled!

I know that you’re tired of refreshing it, but I updated it again. Increased far clipping plane distance and made far sky not cut.

Maybe you could make a subdomain for WebQuake with PHP (or, at least, a way to setup self-made native CGI) and SQL and give me admin access to it?

Nah, I don’t want to host people again. I added the updates to my feedreader, then I know daily. Github is stupid for spamming all about new issues but not about new checkins when you are “watching”.

Thanks!

Why don’t you want? I will manage everything by myself.
Also, Chrome devs transferred the Linux/Mac/Android sound bug to Windows. Damn!

Multiplayer server is here!

I try to load the game in my Chrome browser and I get some weird message saying “(file name) file is not a pak file”(I can’t remember the name of the file at the moment). Is there a way to fix this?

Please try it on http://webquake.quaddicted.com and if the message persists, do say what file it complains about.

Anybody can host a deathmatch server?

Leego, your web server doesn’t support byte serving. Try Abyss Web Server.

Finally fixed that sad tab bug in Chrome. And also added stereo sound in Chrome.

Sorry for bumping. I added UDP to the dedicated server so you can join WebQuake servers with other clients (WinQuake, GLQuake) and play with WebQuake players on the same server.

That reminds me, I should setup a server! Maybe on the weekend.

You rock so much!

Spirit, did you kill WebQuake for traffic or what? Getting 403 on every game file.
Also can’t connect to FTP because of ECONNREFUSED.

The host killed it for excessive load and I cannot host it there anymore.
I will direct the domain back to this server and that means you lose access to it again. Damn! :frowning:

Apparently it got “1.4 million hits” today and that was too much (understandably for shared hosting). Was it linked somewhere prominently? I’ll look at the logs tomorrow.

Redirecting them now. That’s a lot of people. Let’s see if this server is happier with the load.

Ok, thanks.

I wrote a post about WebQuake on Habrahabr, a VERY popular Russian IT site, and “habraeffect” pwned it.

Also, to what extent was progs.dat modified? Only fish count fix and “exited the level” thing? And I don’t really like that cheats are bound to easily accessible keys.

http://www.quaddicted.com/quake/versions (1.06) + fish count fix.

In shareware pak0.pak, the progs.dat (404 kb, and my 0xd6-0xd5 at 0x26640 fish count fix applies correctly) doesn’t display “player exited the level” in SP.

On now-dead webquake.quaddicted.com, I installed the shareware progs.dat with my fish count fix.
