As commented earlier, it looks like id quality. A nice solid map!

Very good map for its time. Progression is linear, but there’s a water tunnel that connects different parts of the map and makes the layout more complex than it may initially seem. The secrets are well-placed and well-hidden. My only complaint is that there are several prominent misaligned textures.

Very good well built base map for its time. It can be completed rather quickly but it has interesting level design and compelling lightening effects for such an early built quake map. I would highly recommend playing this classic quake map and would give it a four out of five rating.

Fast-paced and gripping. Blink - and it’s over. Solid 8/10, a classic.

For really early era maps this is quite good. However the readme states that it was “also compiled for glquake” and “Editor: WorldCraft 1.1a”, which were both from 1997. And BSP itself has a reference to hipnotic.wad, which was also from 1997.

I don’t think this was Aug 1996…
