a bit confusing how to get the map start names. Having to dig through every readme is awful you would think there would be some label on each map page saying the name you se

I liked it overall, nice progression, combats, traps and monsters placements,Imaginations From The Past is my favorite,we are short on ammo sometimes,a bit more is better IMO,but maybe it was on purpose,i add one more star and rate 4/5 considering the hard task it was to do these back in 1997,the description of it playing on Steam Quake 1 Remastered catched my attention, nice job.

Really nice looking start map. Nice architecture, great visuals, has a Nightmare selection and a portal for the id maps.

Great tech base map. Architecture is good, plenty of great details, the spaces are very interconnected. Gameplay flow is decent, although there is some, perhaps exagerated, back and forth.
I don’t really like the messages for opening doors/gates though. Passage 7A39 opened doesn’t really say much, so you have to wander around sometimes, to know what you just opened.

Another great tech base map. I think I prefer this one to the first map. Same good qualities, architecture, detail, but improved game flow. Exploding fish were a nice detail.

Great medieval themed map. Nice architecture, plenty of good looking details, the space is nice to explore. The secrets aren’t impossible to find, game flow is pretty good. Might be just a bit too easy.

Yet another great medieval map, with nice interconnectedness. The game flow is great, details, architecture, all top notch. The beginning is a bit low on ammo, if you’re shotgun starting, but you can make it work.

Continues the same level of quality. I really like the style of this map, good detail, reminiscent of id maps.
It’s a shame that there are no nailguns available in Nightmare, as there is plenty of ammo to go around.
Contains a secret map exit.

Nice little map, no real faults here. Shotgun starts suffer from low ammo, but manageable.
The secrets might be a bit too easy to find?

Good map, at the same level as the others. It is, however, also lacking in ammo and weapons, if you’re shotgun starting. Especially in the beginning, after getting the Rocket Launcher it gets a bit better, but still on the low end.
Don’t forget to use the fix, so that you can escape the spike trap.

It’s a somewhat ordinary Chthon map, where you shoot him instead of using the lightning poles. It has very low amounts of ammo, especially if you are shotgun starting. Had to kill almost every enemy with the axe, just to have enough for the boss.
There are four enemy spawns that are triggered when the player enters the exit portal. They are supposed to show up as sort of a cutscene, at the end text. However, they don’t always move into the kill trigger, so you may not get 100% kills if you exit normally. Luckily, the spawn trigger and the exit map trigger are not perfectly aligned, so it is possible to just edge enough in the exit platform to touch the monster spawn one. There is a 45 second delay though, so you’ll be waiting a bit.
For some reason, in Quakespasm, if you save after you kill Chthon then load, your kill counter will be doubled. So it is possible to end the map with 26/11 kills.

Overall, a great set of maps that you should play. Good visuals, nice gameplay, but it does get increasingly difficult if you plan to shotgun start them. Have fun!
