Forum thread for satanden

Too squarish brushwork, even for its time, and bland gameplay. Nothing else to complain about.

Seems to be playable, but brushwork very plain.

Satanden on The Quake Grave

This one is kind of boxy and has a lot of large, underpopulated rooms. There really isn’t a whole lot here to talk about but it’s a decent, competent little map for the time.

These early maps sure have a tendency of being quite dark and hiding stuff in the darkness. I had to be roaming and diving aimlessly in the darkness for a little bit before figuring out where I was supposed to go.

Even if it looks really simple, there are a couple of okayish vistas that open up once you see them for the first time. The main room in the screenshot with that ceiling architecture was the most detailed room and the nicest to look at, but otherwise the map is quite ugly.

map with plain boring designed rooms lacking greatly in detail, the combat is good and the map is functional and playable. I would give this map only a two out of five rating and say it is not really a must play as their are more better built quake maps to play through that are worth your time.
