Indeed cramped, but still kinda fun, at least if every secret is found (which shouldn’t be too hard). I’d rate it 3+.

One of the best 1997 levels, and I generally dislike small levels.

The only substantial fault is that the secrets are not only overpowered but also extremely easy to find.

The blue color scheme is aesthetically pleasing, but I didn’t like this otherwise. It’s just an endless series of close-quarters combats in cramped passages. I don’t mind the occasional close combat as part of a map that also has open spaces, but it quickly gets old when it’s all the map offers. Also, the walls and floors have a lot of jagged edges, so it’s easy to get stuck on some protruding light or plaque and be immobilized while enemies are hurtling toward you. And as the previous commenter mentioned, the secrets are obvious, so there’s no opportunity for exploration.

The gameplay is a challenge, but it’s not the kind of challenge I enjoy.

The map is a bit cramped and very linear, but it is fun. Feels more like a Quad run with so many secrets with so big rewards, which are, except maybe one, very obvious. This made the map easy on skill 2 even though there is several ambushes on the face against big or numerous enemies.

Saving the cramped places and some z-fighting, feel like a solid map for this year.

I like this map but it has some drawbacks. Too many (with secrets) items to consume makes it much less challanging. I hate this air trap with no possibility of backtracking. It’s smallish and can be finished within 2 minutes. The rest is good for style and the time, so i give it 4\5 to make average rating 3.5 - this is what i really think about this map.

Replayed this and really enjoyed it the 2nd time around. I don’t know if my tastes have changed or I’ve just mellowed out, but this is actually a great map.

I still think the crampy/sticky architecture is a big drawback, but the architecture also shows real attention to detail. The map has a sense of constant forward motion in which the player is pushed from one challenge to the next. That, combined with a few ambushes, makes it a tense but entertaining experience.

I enjoyed playing this unique blue themed quake map despite its short length and overall cramped level design. There were a good amount of secrets to discover (5 in total) as well as engaging combat. It is a shame this is the level designer’s only released map for quake because it is a well designed quake map. I would give this map a four out of five rating and would recommend downloading this quake map.

I imagine this truly would be sadistic given the tight quarters and constant “fuck you” style traps… if it were not for the incredibly easy secrets every 5 feet that practically trivialize the fights.

An interesting little map. It’s cramped and packed with ambushes and hairy moments, but alleviates the issue with a generous amount of health packs and powerups. Nice detail, theme, and lighting. For a first map attempt from '97, it’s a neat, quick play.
