There's lots to love about this, but also some legitimate frustrations, I think. First, the obvious positives: this is a big, solid base that offers lots of exploration of combat, some of it very satisfying. But against that, some parts are very frustrating. Early on, you see some bright red diagonal crosses that look like shootable buttons — but shooting them does nothing, so, OK, they are just scenery. But then before long you reach a section where progression is by shooting two bright red diagonal crosses. Really, folks: buttons should look like buttons; and non-buttons should not look like buttons.
Perhaps because of this kind of confusion, I finished with a feeble three secrets from the total of 24. And it's probably for that reason that I got nowhere in my repeated attempts and the Armagon-and-minions fight very near the end. Probably there's a quad or pent available for that fight, but I never found it. In the end, rather than just give up in annoyance, I used god mode, then went through the rather anticlimactic finale.
All of this sounds terribly negative and ungrateful, which really isn't fair to an excellent map that's benefitted from a lot of polish. But a few small things can really drop a blockage across a map — and a fight that's unwinnable without hard-to-find secrets is one.
I'm rating it four stars nevertheless, because it does so much right.
