So there is an awesome video on you tube by Amelie Langlois called the Beauty of Quake and I’ve been playing all the maps in her selection. Beautiful selection, I believe the focus is just on the visual appeal. Game play on some of them are ok. I just finished Koshta Belorn in this series and its a beautiful map and game play was ok. Reaching the end it there appeared to be a koohoo texture covering the slipgate which felt a little out of place with the Buddha motifs on the main level, but minor. There were a couple of areas between platforms and rocks were I got stuck, just could not jump out or adjust direction, had to reload from save. I noticed the same problem with some of the monsters, scrags getting stuck or moving through the incline path way towards the end or through the wall. I think my kill count was lower because of it. The map had frequent horde battles. That seemed a little out of place too, kind of like oh what the hell - let’s just copy and paste haha. The verticality of the map made it fun to look down and see a smaller platform/secrets. Resources were a bit lite in the beginning but picked up steam with the health, weapons and ammo. Anyway, fun map - beautiful design - Thanks tronyn!
