Very nice map! A worthy follow-up to the first…
…Floating castle?.. (Lemon curry…?) There must be some severe antigrav problems in this world! Nice take on the castle theme - and a nice change to try a ‘daylight’ map too.
Well done. I wonder what will come next. I still can’t spot any of those bloody frogs, though…
Thanks for your efforts, and thanks for sharing!

Crack in the Sky offers a refreshing visual change from the usual Quake fare, while not seeming so out of place as to distract. The visuals are further aided with a real “weight” which gives the structures some verisimilitude even as they float in midair. But what really stands out is the inter-connectivity throughout, always bringing you back around to familiar locations without ever feeling forced. This also allows the secrets to feel a lot more natural than the typical “button moves wall” trick we’ve come to expect from Quake. The map isn’t particularly difficult, and only takes about 30 minutes at the most, which ensures it never overstays its welcome.

Very cool map. If “Rising Action” was very promising then this map is definetly a big step forward. Encounters & mobs placements are more intricate - most of times predictable, but x3 better than “Rising Action”. Visuals are pure pleasure - simplistic but extremely stylish. Oh and secrets - shiny diamonds. Must play for Quake fans. Yet not a masterpiece, but very high above avarage map. 4/5 stars

The author has updated the map to version 1.2. It is necessary to replace the link.
v1.2
- Changed sequencing of one secret to prevent a skip
- Minor texture alignment changes
