Even though the entry on Quaddicted only seems to contain the files for the mod itself, I chose to include the movie here as well.

Short and sweet start map. Pretty detailed. All difficulty selections available, with hidden Nightmare portal.

Nicely detailed tech base map, filled with mostly grunts. Enemy behavior changes are immediately apparent. The map itself is kind of short, but if you're playing on higher difficulty levels, you will take your time due to the lethality of enemy shots. Some crate pushing throughout.

Another base, with plenty of detail. Gameplay isn't very entertaining though. There are a couple of valve-like buttons that require you to stay close to them until they have finished rotating. This might lead you to leave before they have actually finished their job and wander around wondering what's left to do. There's also a very loud machine sound in the water corridor.
Apart from that, pretty straight forward.

Small water section, followed by a city section. Walk around on the streets, enter some buildings and check their rooms, while blasting some foes. Not really my cup of tea though.

This map is much more to my liking. A base with some outdoor sections, reminiscent of a Quake 2 map. Detail is pretty good, lengthy, decent amount of secrets. A couple of them are a breakable wall that looks just like all the other ones though. There are a few friendly NPCs that show up and fight alongside you. But, to be honest, they mostly hinder your shots. Gameplay is fun.

Yet another base. Detail is very good, gameplay is good too. Enemy behavior and weapons detract from it though. Grunts snipping you from across the map with a Super Shotgun, for massive damage. The Hunter respawning after each non gibbed kill. All the nail shooting enemies which you can't reliably dodge. They all decreased my enjoyment.
neh1m5.bsp - Link to Nightmare 100% walkthrough: https://youtu.be/rZD1F3ewaoU
Starts in a base, with a big skirmish between Fiends and friendly NPCs. After dropping through a pipe, you go through a mostly submerged brick themed area, filled with annoying monsters. After resurfacing, you end up back on a base.
It looks good, has neat details like the floating buoy and brick wall destruction. But, for Shotgun starts, it's a chore to 100%. The Jagger monsters are super tanky and move all over the place. Also, no weapons on the map, force you to really think carefully where to use your shells.

Base map with pretty flat lighting and average gameplay. It's a bit short, and not that great to look at. It's got detail, but the lighting makes everything look dull.
A couple of the rooms feel like they have nothing going on. Could have used different enemy encounters.
neh1m7.bsp - Link to Nightmare 100% walkthrough: https://youtu.be/2SY3fMnQ9ic
Very short map. You start in a base area and quickly proceed to ruins located in a mine. Geometry is good, but the lighting is pretty bad.
Both the Gaunt and Arch Gaunt enemies are awful. There is no real reliable way of facing them, so you just get tossed all over the place.
neh1m8.bsp - Link to Nightmare 100% walkthrough: https://youtu.be/88-2baSiS6o
A temple with lava, moving machinery and plenty of verticality. Lighting has improved from the previous two, but texture work could be improved. Everything pretty much looks the same, buttons are difficult to spot. Not great, not terrible.
neh1m9.bsp - Link to Nightmare 100% walkthrough: https://youtu.be/hcBYY2ZafLI
Fairly detailed brick temple map. It starts with a humorous Ogre Cook enemy. Love the frying pan sounds, when he hits you.
Shotgun starts get pretty hectic, pretty soon, as the map is filled with plenty of though enemies right off the bat. A good challenge.
Ends with a boss fight that gets resolved quickly, if you have a Quad Damage.

Large fortress, that sports Quake 3 textures. Very lengthy map, with plenty of infighting opportunities. Looks ok and it's entertaining. Nothing really stood out on the gameplay side of things.
neh2m2.bsp - Link to Nightmare 100% walkthrough: https://youtu.be/TV-N1gMAGfk
The classic tower structure, on top of a mountain. Looks good and is extremely short.
Not much in terms of gameplay. Unless, of course, you go for the secret map exit. Then you have to juggle 10 Fiends in almost complete darkness.
neh2m3.bsp - Link to Nightmare 100% walkthrough: https://youtu.be/-zOhuJZhrLc
Super straightforward, rocketarena like, low gravity, short map. Blast your foes and head on to the exit. Not much to say about this one.

Enjoyable temple map, with some length to it. Pushable objects make a comeback here, nothing too tedious. The area outside of the temple looks great, specially the skybox.
As for gameplay, the map throws a couple of traps at you. All pretty fair, even on your first playthrough. The Arch Gaunt enemies continue to be awful.
There is an optional area, that takes you back to the temple entrance. But the map mostly feels like you're playing in a big tunnel, going forward.
neh2m4.bsp - Link to Nightmare 100% walkthrough: https://youtu.be/m_x3TtfQRLA
Good looking temple, where you will spend most of your time on sewers. Gameplay is good, but the custom enemies bring it down a notch. Specifically, the Jaggers, Gaunts and Archgaunts.
The beginning section is pretty difficult for Shotgun starts. Some infighting here, some waiting around there, you can manage. After you drop down to the sewers, you're mostly ok.
There are some neat details though, like the collapsing bridges.
neh2m5.bsp - Link to Nightmare 100% walkthrough: https://youtu.be/4fv2J1PBdlI
Exhausting map to Shotgun start. Hectic start and constant ammo management required throughout the whole +30 minutes. The secret also requires an enemy boost to get. Rewarding to complete though.
A long trek through a detailed temple / cathedral like structure, filled with plenty of monsters and foes. The library Ogre and its squeaky cart wheel are a fun detail.
Had a constant issue where one kill was missing and nowhere to be found. This never happened when I did a full run, without saving / loading. Unsure of what the problem is.

After a 4 hour movie, all these maps and cutscenes, Nehahra, the beast, is a pretty big letdown. Even if you don't make use of the hidden Quad Damage, it will go down in a couple of seconds.
Other than that, there's not much else to the map. Besides a secret credits room.
nehahra.bsp - Link to Nightmare 100% walkthrough: https://youtu.be/KcPNA6KgHVM
Boss arena, with Max. The space is quite large, but only the lower floor is convenient for fighting. Everywhere else, you will get smacked quite hard by the boss.
Max, has to be killed several times in order to actually be defeated. When the player grabs a Quad Damage, he will actively run and hide. Luckily, it is somewhat common for him to get stuck on a wall, when he does this. Which is quite handy, as he takes forever. Specially on a Shotgun start.

Cutscene map, but still playable. Placed in a cathedral. It looks like it would be an enjoyable map, if fleshed out.
A lights out trap, 34 enemies and no exit.
romeric1.bsp - Link to Nightmare 100% walkthrough: https://youtu.be/sfSQ9cZUTpk
Probably just a test map for the custom Vore behavior. An arena where you 1v1 a Vore, that jumps around.
No exit.

This map is used in The Seal of Nehahra, but it is still playable. A pretty large and detailed tech base map. Unfortunately, most of it is empty, as there are only 3 Enforcers on the map.
No exit.

This map is used in The Seal of Nehahra, but it is still playable. Inside of a cathedral, single room map. Luckily, the Archgaunts can actually infight one another.
No exit.

Overall, it is a meaty modification.
Pros:
- Lots of new maps
- Plenty of gameplay changes
- Most of the maps are very detailed
Cons:
- Everything is so dark. Had to resort to using ReShade, or I wouldn't have seen anything
- Some inconsistency between maps. Some have secrets, some don't
- New weapons don't add much
- New powerups also don't add much
- Definitely not a fan of the enemy behavior changes
Maps are, for the most part, pretty good. Very detailed. A couple of them have very flat lighting though.
Both the new powerups and weapons are a bit of a dud. They are not very frequent and you don't really miss them. I mostly stuck to the default weapons.
There are quite a few changes that add a nice variety. Such as breakable objects, pushable crates, exploding barrels, fog, friendly NPCs, among others.
The worst part of it are the enemies. Standard enemies now dodge like crazy and have a much higher fire rate. New enemies are all pretty dreadful, not fun to play against, at all. There's no consistent way to dodge Mutant and Nailgun Ogres' shots, you either get lucky, or you don't. Tsemochs require multiple kills, or be gibbed, to actually die. If you hit them with a sprocket, they will jerkily get in your face, so you get hit by the explosion. Jaggers have some of the worst hitboxes in Quake. Both Gaunts and Archgaunts spam you with rapid fire projectiles, homing projectiles and throw you all over the map. Absolutely terrible.
The only decent additions are the Vomitus, which hardly does anything. The Baron, a supercharged version of the Hell Knight and the new attacks for the Fiend, Hell Knight and Vore.
As for bosses, Nehahra is disappointing. You get a Quad, it dies in 2 seconds. The other two have to be killed multiple times before actually being defeated. The last boss, especially, is such a chore to defeat.
Ultimately, its got plenty of good stuff in it. But I can't say I enjoyed my experience very much.
