Having played this pack for the first time in its remastered release, I found that the gameplay and visuals held up quite well for a now seventeen year old episode. Difficulty progresses at a very measured pace and there is a strong sense of progression to the levels. Gameplay is generally very tight, but has some spots that can trend into “annoying” rather than “engaging”.
Thematically, it plays like a greatest hits album of quake environments and therefore does not have a consistent vibe or style. This is probably one of the few weaknesses of the pack. Overall, this is definitely worth a download in the remaster, if you are looking for some solid vanilla Quaking.
