I try not to read the comments before I play so as not to get an unfair advantage. It was only after I found myself at the end (skill 2), with 0 ammo and low on health and half a dozen of Quake’s baddest left to dispatch, that I came back and discovered that there is an updated version with more ammo at the end!

I downloaded it, but after thinking a bit, went into my last save point with the original map and restarted. I replayed the whole level, this time being more conservative and taking a bit more time and ended up finishing it with plenty of armor, health, and ammo to spare.

I just found it interesting that the game had a very different ending when I changed my style of play to match the environment.

Anyway, beautiful map! Much enjoyed!

Replayed again. This is a really nice example of old-school done right, with satisfying exploration and brutal combats. Good climactic fight, too.

Good map. Started to feel a little circular (going around in circles) back and fourth over the same areas, but had fun.
