I tried to run this in my usual engine (QuakeSpasm-0.93.2), only to find it crashing as soon as I started a New Game, saying “Texture solid_black is not 16 aligned”. That feels like a pretty fundamental problem?
In readme described:
… VK and IronWail are the recommended engines, QS has visual bugs…
so, please try recommended sourseports.
Thanks, @Callunna, appreciated. I think I’ll skip this one, then. Traps are not usually much fun for me, and building for a specific engine has a whiff of late-90s “best viewed in Internet Explorer” about it.
Good jam, some incredible visuals and one specific very hard map (for my skills). No-combat jams are always special in their own ways!
You can simply load maps via the console. I don’t think they have any unconventional-sized textures, unlike the start map
It might interest you to know that the error is not present in Quakespasm 0.96.3, if upgrading is preferable to switching to a different engine
