Fucking amazing and super underrated. Tight as nails gameplay and level design.

Started playing this and everything was fine until e2ud right after the lava bridge that comes down from the ceiling. I got stuck because apparently quakespasm 0.92.1 cannot handle both gotshun and hipnotic (using quakespasm -game gotshun -hipnotic as instructed), so the Mjolnir I need to pick up to open a door is missing. Version 0.93.1 is fine though. Or did I miss something?

Found a fix (at least using Debian): you need to repeat yourself, like this: “quake -game gotshun -hipnotic -game gotshun”.

More on topic: I’m finishing the first episode on Nightmare and enjoying this thoroughly!

Thanks Gotshun for this great pack! I didn’t find the secret level, so I’ve got an excuse for replaying this pack eventually.

I agree with Vasya shkolnik on the Shambler issues. The end of the last level will be tough, so try and avoid using nails and bolts because you will need them badly at some point.

I completed the pack on Nightmare, but I’m puzzled by a possibly missing secret in the start map. I noclipped out of curiosity but didn’t notice anything, did Gotshun forget to count the entrance to Nightmare mode? (I used gotshun_v11.zip from the linked page).

This has the “bones” of a great custom episode, but as stated it is unfinished which results in a lot of annoying niggles that made it unenjoyable for me. For example, buttons don’t change texture when pressed, there are various instances of broken game logic (either sequential events that don’t always trigger fully, or a secret in which the power-up’s useful time is halved by a circuitous exit route) and some visual inconsistencies such as button textures being used for decoration in the same level in which they’re used as … buttons. Also at one point a platform raised me up quicker than the door above it was able to fully open, and I hurt my head. These are not issues you expect to encounter in a map with a five star rating.
