I replayed this as part of my trawl through all the fmb levels (to culminate in the magnificent fmb_bdg2). It’s interesting to see how primitive this is in comparison, and watch the development of one of our very best mappers. Even at this early stage, the map is enjoyably playable, and worth 3*.

I liked the progression but the lighting is too contrasted in my opinion. Nice combat.

I enjoyed Mike wooham’s first released map for quake and would recommend downloading this map. There is nothing surprising when playing through this map and it is quite dark which can make hard to navigate through sometimes. However this map illustrates the potential within the quake community’s finest mappers as there is great combat within this map. I look forward towards playing his future released maps for quake. I would give this map a three out of five rating and say it is worth a download if you are interested in early custom quake maps.

Tight rooms and corridors, lots of things to bump into, not enough space to move around freely. Also a pretty linear map.
Below average.
