I found this disappointing compared to the earlier Mexx maps. Mexx 3, 4, and 5 had a combination of non-stop combat, ambushes and dark lighting that made them tense and thrilling. This is done in essentially the same style, but there are fewer unexpected moments, and the non-stop combat is much less of a challenge with grunts and enforcers. IMO the author developed a unique style of gameplay in the Mexx series, but that style doesn’t work well in base maps.

I think in nightmare difficulty this map provides a decent challenge with those darn hitscan grunts being so quick with their trigger fingers. I still beat it with my first playthrough, though.

I really liked how the author used flickering lights to a great effect. It instilled a sense of panic and chaos in the dark corridors filled with baddies.

I liked the addition of the computer mainframes, lamps and screens in the base to spice up the place and provide cover against the enemies.

Of the mexx maps I’ve played the third and fourth, so far, and I think I might just like this the most out of the three.

One small nitpick I have would be the author omitting the keycard symbols from the locked doors, but otherwise it’s a great map!

This is a well done based stylized map that plays well and has plenty of secrets waiting to be discovered by the player. The map contains great lighting effects that provides a dreadful mood within the map to the player as well great enemy ambush attacks that will suprise certain players. The last room before the exit is the best part of this map as well. I would give mexx 6 a four out of five rating and would highly recommend playing this map.
