Yep, pretty sweet. This turned out to be a good choice for a speedmap theme – the quakey-but-different look is strong and gives an extra goose to all the maps. But there’s a nice variety in the maps too!
No real duds in here that I can remember, and some neat debuts from Aesopolis and stickflip. I think this set of releases would have been nothing to sneeze at even for a “jam”, and for a speedmapping event it’s extra solid.

Excellent pack. I haven’t played a speedmap pack with such consistent quality in a while.
As others have said, these are excellent for speedmaps. Ricky’s map is the standout for me, but Alexunder’s map is also memorable, with some of the best architecture in the pack. The map’s dim lighting makes progression confusing at various points, but it also helps create an interesting atmosphere. I really liked the debut maps from Aesopolis and stickflip as well and hope to see more from them.

This is an absolutely adorable collection of small and murderous maps!
Really, really well done everybody!
And thanks for sharing!

The biggest complement that I can give this pack is that it didn’t feel like the product of speed mapping. While the levels are mostly brief, the quality of them is consistently impressive for the time allotted. There are some really creative and innovative uses of the Machine Games textures on display here. For gameplay, I have to highlight Chris Holden’s work, as the weaving through the lava tube scaffolding was very cool. Aesopolis’s map was my first visual “Wow.” moment of the pack (totally did not expect a Greco-Roman vibe with these textures). Yoder’s industrial sewer map plays like a succinct sequel to the chapter of Dimension of the Machine that featured those textures. For a speed mapping exercise, these levels are a 6/5, but I’ll just give it a solid 5/5 here. Play this pack immediately.
