Too hard and too dark. Well-designed except a few rooms and wrong texturing on windows and some buttons.

Played on nightmare. Found 4 secrets of ? available (there is no trigger_secrets).

Quite good. Even considering its time, gameplay is good. Layout is non-linear and varied, with some side areas, progression depends on finding obvious buttons and killing, half of each. OK lighting for the time, parts that are a bit dark are the mines, which is obvious. Average to good for its time brushwork, with the room in the screenshot being the best one looking-wise, with some rooms in need for clipping or more room to move but nothing frustrating, the misaligned textures didn’t kill the experience for me. Worse was the mix of themes without sense in the case of the base part that seemed to be there for no reason, bu it is small (one room) so it can be considered a minor issue.

Gameplay has variety, no unfair combats and in cases where there is big fights you have new weapons or Quads at hand, and almost all enemies are well placed and chosen. Difficulty is around ID maps. Amount and placement of ammo/health/armour and specials is good, is over whats needed, but lower than ID maps. Secrets were hidden in good ways, but if you find them all, you’ll find yourself with way over the armour neded.

Recommended.

Visually incoherent, with different sections of the map having totally different textures. The base room feels particularly out of place. Gameplay was okay, with some parts that were annoying and others that were well done.

The author, “Ace,” is actually Roger Staines, who did the excellent Elsinore map. That was inventive and ahead of its time; this is merely okay and feels dated.

average 1997 quake map with a variety of themes within the map and obvious misaligned textures. It is a functional playable quake map that is worth a quick play through. Best part of the map is when you are fighting in King Solomon’s mines where the level designer makes great use of lighting to convey a sense of dread to the player while combating knights and hell knights. There is also of plenty unmarked secrets for armor that can be obtained by finding hidden buttons. I would recommend playing this map and would give it a three out of five rating.
