Quake 64 reverse-engineering for source ports?

DOOM 64 has https://doomwiki.org/wiki/Doom64_EX.
Duke Nukem 64 now has https://forums.duke4.net/topic/11273-release-duke-nukem-64-pc-port/.
Is it possible to reverse-engineer Quake 64 for source ports to run natively? Some people may argue that it’s simpler just to download a mod. Well, problem is, http://quakeone.com/forum/quake-mod-releases/finished-works/7798-quake-64-ultra of the Quake 64 Ultra mod are all dead, and no one has any backups of it.

I was under the impression that quake 64 was nothing more than a port? did it run different under the hood or did it have new content?

It has some new textures, lots of downscaled textures, reduced level geometry, missing levels, a new soundtrack, neon color lights and what not.

How funny! I’ve actually started to work on a Quake 64 PC port very recently. I’m currently working on The Slipgate Complex. When I finish it (at least The Slipgate Complex), I’ll release it.

Hello Wavy, thats awesome that you are working on it. How is the progress going if i may ask, need any help ? I can motivate you by offering a very stimulating dinner by moonlight with a couple of scrags
