Tracking new releases (for addition to the database)

As to updates to the database, I am still full of dread on “Quake community” things from the interactions I had in the recent years. So I focus on other things in life and the burden on that updating task is on poor negke. https://www.quaddicted.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=622 was (and IS!) my hope to get the site into the hands of a community. If I don’t manage to get something going over the turn of the year I will get someone to join our editor thingie.

Spirit. I do not blame you at all for distancing yourself from some of the community but please be aware there are a lot of new mappers and lots of content coming. I hope we can get people involved to help out here in the coming months.

Level ‘1916’ has just been added to the injector. When installed the music file is ending up under \QUAKE\ID1\maps\music rather than \QUAKE\ID1\music. Can someone fix? Thanks, James

Unfortunately this website is terrible and any changes to files requires a new page which requires a new unique filename for the archive.
Sorry about that but hopefully soon this will not be a limitation anymore.

I made a new zip, please check if it is ok: https://transfer.sh/vgU0C/1916_v2.zip
There the files are all relative to quake/id1/ so the map will extract to quake/id1/maps/ and the music to quake/id1/music/ if you unpack it in quake/id1/.
If you give the ok, I will upload that file and add a new entry for it. And if you want another name than that “_v2”, just shout. It has to be unique though. :\

neggers: I don’t know the issue with jumpmod, I whitelisted the “+” in the filename and tested it locally but the server does not agree. :frowning: Maybe there is some caching in the way, please remind me another day if it still does not work. For xmasjam2019.zip I still haven’t gotten a normal url that let’s wget download the file.

Thanks Spirit, the new zip looks good. Naming is ok. If we can remove the old one that fails on the music that would be great.

jumpmod has been fixed, the issue was that the “+” was not urlencoded in the map list. It should work now (I might have broken other links in the process though I guess?). The entry is at https://www.quaddicted.com/reviews/jumpmod2%2Btd_complete.html
